Winter Themed Fact Fluency Practice

Fact fluency can be stressful for students and teachers! For students, it can be stressful to memorize so many facts. For teachers, it can be stressful when students do not have strong fact fluency skills. However, since so many math skills involve fact fluency, they are so important for students to know! Therefore, creating engaging math activities for third grade is vital in order to help students learn their facts. I am here to help you ensure students master this skill! 

Benefits of Fact Fluency 

Due to the importance, there are many benefits of strong fact fluency skills. First, students will have a stronger understanding of math concepts. Since so much content is centered around fact fluency, students truly need to know their facts. Secondly, students will have less math anxiety. Since they will not be overwhelmed over not knowing facts, their minds will be open to new content. Third, students will be getting prepared for real life. There are so many times when math facts are used. From managing money to leaving a tip at a restaurant, math facts are constantly used. 

2s Winter Practice

In this resource, students will practice multiplying by 2s! There are 40 Boom Cards to ensure students have plenty of practice. Additionally, there is a cute winter bear theme in order to keep students engaged and interested on each Slide! 

10s Winter Fact Fluency Practice

In this resource, students will practice 10s fact fluency. Likewise, there are also 40 Boom Cards for ample practice! Furthermore, in order to help students stay engaged, there are cute themes throughout. Students will love the winter technology pieces, owls, and snowflakes. 

Division Practice

In order to apply fact fluency, students will progress into division practice. Here, students will practice solving for the quotient. There are 30 Boom Cards in this deck, which is another great way to keep students engaged. Furthermore, students will also love the different themes. For example, there are techy students, snowflakes, frosty bears, and snowmen. 

Math Centers 

In order to complete these engaging activities, a math center planner will be incredibly helpful. For example, a fact fluency center will be the perfect addition to weekly math centers! Students may rotate through different centers for review and new content. Specifically, math fact fluency may be a review center. Students may complete a Boom Card deck each time centers are used. By doing this, facts will always be fresh in their minds! Then, as students travel to the other centers, they can focus on the content.
